Private & Housing Association Block in Littlemore

Case Study

Overview

In 2015 we were instructed by Directors as their Managing Agents for their development of 52 units in Oxford, 15 of which are owned by a Housing Association. The development had been neglected by the previous agents and there was significant work to do on the grounds and the buildings. The Management Company had a difficult relationship with the Housing Association and their tenants which had created a real divide across the estate.

Solution

We set-up the online portal in 2017 which has improved communication and helped to build a community spirit which had previously been lacking. We set-out to improve the relationship between the privately owned units and the Housing Association as the strained relationship was making management challenging. We facilitated meetings with the Housing Association to seek out a better working relationship and understanding of one another.

Result

In our eight years of management, the block has improved each and every year. The gardens and grounds have improved and the buildings are well maintained. We have cultivated a community appreciation for the development from the residents who now feel that their service charge money is well used and the services provided are of value. The relationship with the Housing Association has improved and we continue to look for ways to engage with them and understand their management to enable us to work harmoniously for the benefit of all.
